Barcelona Ready for First Game at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday
Barcelona have announced they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome the Basque side in the Spanish league two and a half years following their departure so building work could begin.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside under the licence granted. After final construction, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barcelona held a public practice at the Camp Nou earlier this month. The club said approval is being pursued from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
