British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday night. The fighter was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
Joshua had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.
“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.
Remembering the Victims
The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two dear friends.”
The news of his discharge arrives after the global fight fans had expressed its support for the champion in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
