Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and continuing assault against it by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area close to the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any impact is not yet known and the American officials has not commented.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - reported they have intercepted missiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was striking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck locations associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

Additional Developments

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with high efficiency and shot down a series of missiles," it added.

Officials reported missile fragments fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
