Manchester United's Mason Mount Declares Players Are '100% Backing' Under-Pressure Manager Ruben Amorim
After a crucial 2-0 win over Sunderland, the United midfielder has publicly stated that the team's players are fully behind their manager, Ruben Amorim.
Important Victory Provides Respite for The Coach
Manchester United's third triumph of the campaign was earned thanks to finishes from Mount himself and striker Benjamin Sesko, offering some breathing space for the under-fire head coach.
This performance signifies that United have now won three consecutive matches at the Theatre of Dreams and also registered their first game without conceding of the season.
“The squad is 100% backing the gaffer,” Mount commented. “We’ve had some outcomes that were painful – the squad, the staff and the fans – but that was important.”
Looking Ahead for Manchester United
Mount went on to say that this must be the launch of a positive period, referring to past fixtures where confidence was not maintained.
The team will face their rivals after the international break, hoping to achieve consecutive wins under their manager Amorim for the first instance.
The Coach's Comments and Appeal
Amorim urged his players to demonstrate that backing in the matches to come.
“From the performance I observed and it's clear they aim to deliver their best and it's evident they don’t want to change the coach all the time,” the coach commented. “Yet, supporting the coach means: ‘I will kill myself to succeed in every transition.’ It's crucial to show with actions.”
Amorim noted that the team must display their capability in games, both at home but equally in away games.
Debut for Summer Arrival
He was vindicated by starting Mount and handing a first start to new signing Senne Lammens.
He joined from Royal Antwerp on transfer deadline day for a sizable transfer fee, but had been left on the bench until the latest fixture.
“He seemed confident in his debut,” Amorim said. “However the key point is that his teammates helped Lammens to have a solid performance because everyone was switched on, with very few mistakes.”
When asked about the reason to hold off before handing Lammens his maiden appearance, the manager clarified that it was a case of adjustment for the arriving goalkeeper.
Amorim noted factors such as getting used to a new country, different training methods, and the immense pressure directed at the shot-stopper at a club like United.
The head coach concluded by saying that it was only a single match and that the goalkeeper needs to keep improving and stay ready for the demands that await.
