A jet carrying the US defense secretary was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an announcement which verified that Hegseth was safe.

"The jet landed following standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, such as Secretary Hegseth, is secure," an official representative commented in a online announcement.

The secretary was coming back from a brief trip to Brussels during the flight.

This event isn't the initial instance that a American defense plane carrying a high-ranking official has experienced mechanical issues.
