Salah Offers Statement to Teammates, Says Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has shared that the Egyptian forward said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad following the controversy from his recent interview.
What Happened
He was omitted from a key Champions League match following making accusations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I apologise.’”
The head coach has chosen not to comment publicly on whether he got an explanation from the 33-year-old forward.
Moving Forward
The player stated that the squad's reaction remained positive. “He was the exact same Mo, he was smiling and everybody was exactly the same with him,” the midfielder explained.
He also implied that a teammate fighting for a place is a positive trait. “I get that there are certain ways you can go about things,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s concerning.”
On-Field Response
Their results have been impressive in the games following the situation. The player is convinced the forward's comments were not intended to harm the team.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a place of caring,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and securing victories.”
