The incident caused the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two individuals are now facing charges following a suitcase robbery where a suspected capsaicin spray led to people being hurt at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.

The charges follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage taken after getting out of a car park lift, authorities reported.

A three-year-old girl was caught up in the incident in the event. Five people were taken to a medical facility and were subsequently released.

The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not considered a terror-related act – led to disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
